When’s the last time you received a hand written card in the mail? And no, I’m not talking about for your birthday, graduation, or anniversary. I’m talking about a truly heart felt card written with you in mind just to say hello or I love you. I’m guessing that not many of you have in the last three months. Unfortunately, life goes by so quickly and our days are so jam packed with appointments and to-dos that we don’t take the time to stay in touch with distant friends or even remind those close ones that we think of them. This can change! Make it a goal that once a week you sit down for five minutes and write out a card to a friend, family member, or an acquaintance that you have been thinking about or would like to catch up with. You don’t have to write a novel or anything inspirationally profound. A simple, “I’ve been thinking about you. Hope all is well” or “I love you” is all the card needs to bring a smile to the recipient. I challenge you to send a card this week to someone who’s been on your mind or a family member you haven’t spoke to in a while. Don’t be afraid to reach out to others, trust me, they will be truly glad you did!
